Mermaid Hair

Dear fellow vintage enthusiast,

I must first confess to you that I am not a natural redhead- though I wish I were, as life would be so much easier x

Secondly, the last time I walked into a hair salon was about two and a half years ago. Due to the length of my hair and the three-week timeline required for regrowth to appear, my hair maintenance became quite a costly ordeal. I therefore took it upon myself to learn everything I possibly could about dying, cutting and maintaining hair.

While it is important to trim your hair at least once a month to prevent split ends and breakage, the real impact is also in the products you use. Due to the frequency I dye my hair it is important that I use a treatment that is hydrating, soothing and is good for removing knots- (something all girls with mermaid length hair would understand).

After much trial and error, I have found two staple products for my hair that I cannot function without.

Firstly, there is the Biolage Keratindose Conditioner Matrix. I love that I can purchase this product in a one litre bottle as this size will last me just over three months. I used this conditioner first when in the shower as it is formulated with Pro-Keratin and will remove my knots and repair my ends that are brittle or damaged.

Secondly, I use the Aesop Rose Hair & Scalp Moisturising Masque. This is my favourite hair treatment on the market because it is the most effective and smells like a rose garden. After conditioning, I place the masque in my hair for fifteen minutes- once I’ve rinsed out the treatment, I brush my hair to remove all the knots seamlessly.  The end result is that once my hair dries, it feels healthy, lustre and soft.

I am very fortunate to have found both these products as they enable me to keep my hair length and fullness without the fear of damage.
